Below you can find some of the projects that I have worked on alone, in a group, or as a class.

ABOUT ME

Hey there! Welcome to my portfolio, glad you decided to stop by. Before we jump into everything let me tell you a bit about who this "Abbie" is. I'm a senior in high school who craves adventure and loves to be spontaneous. A little adrenaline rush never hurt anyone, right? I'm still in the proccess of "finding myself", but what I can tell you is that I love the outdoors and hanging out with people I'm close to. On a typical day I listen to music, drink coffee ( I have quite the coffee addiction), and hang out outside, or just go for a drive with the windows down. Yup, that's me.

I've been apart of the eCommunication program at Olathe Northwest High School for the past four years. I've spent most of my eComm career in the entertainment program where I create music videos, short films, and also do work with clients. I've worked on a short film with my entire class, created multiple sports promo videos, created videos for other school's dance teams, as well as done my own in- class projects. eComm has really shown me just how many different ways there are to get involved with your community by utilizing your skill sets.

WHAT I'VE DONE

In the future I don't have any plans to major in film, but I hope that I can incorporate some sort of art expression into what ever I do. Video has defintiely been a way for me to get a glimpse into other peoples lives and way of doing things, and I love learning about someone through their work. So I hope no matter what I do I'm able to expresss myself so people can learn more about who I am as an individual.

WHAT'S NEXT?

This is a short film titled As Though Lost that I worked on with my entire video class over the course of the second semester of my junior year. My specific job for this film was to be the location manager. A location manager or location scout does just that, scouts out locations to be filmed upon. Additionally the location manager will get permission to film there, learn the area, find parking, and make sure that the location works with the overall tone of the film being created.

This is the promo video for another film a handful of students and I created for the boys soccer team to purchase at the the end of their season. My involvement with this film was attending and filming several soccer games, editing the video, as well as interviewing players.

This was a video I created over Thanksgiving Break that is intended to be a walk through the Country Club Plaza to get a glimpse of what things are like down there. The original asssignment given to us was the "20 step challenge", but I wanted to show a glimpse of Kansas City rather than just my everyday routine. So my friend Alyssa and I took a trip downtown and she was nice enough to let me film her for the day. I then took the footage home and edited all of it. Voila, "20" steps in KC!

We were given an assignment that was supposed to be a self portrait of who we are. Honestly, I was dreading this assignment. I don't really know who I am at this point in my life. I decided that I was going to make a video that was more about the journey of finding and creating yourself since that's what I'm doing right now--finding and creating who I am.
